Dr. Damm has responsibility for both new investments and portfolio management. In this role, he draws on more than two decades of experience in scientific medicine, healthcare marketing, and finance.

Prior to joining BioAdvance in mid-2006, Dr. Damm spent 12 years as a strategic and marketing consultant, often working in concert with the communications firms Adair-Green, CommonHealth, and The Hal Lewis Group.  He was a lead or principal consultant on more than 20 life-science products, including  Accupril®, Cardiolite®, Coumadin®, Cognex®, Crestor®, Exanta®, Pravacho®l, Reyataz®, Stedicor®, Toprol XL®, and Zantac 75®.  His engagements spanned 15 companies of diverse scale, all stages of product development, and both consumer and professional audiences.

Dr. Damm’s independent consulting focused on finance and early-stage businesses, and his clients have included Bessemer Venture Partners, Fort Mason Capital, Safeguard Scientifics, and Ross University (a Leeds-Weld investment).

 Dr. Damm began his career in academic cardiology, and he has combined ongoing teaching and research with his commercial activities.  He was educated at Harvard College (A. B.), Columbia University’s College of Physicians and Surgeons (M. D.), and The Wharton School (M. B. A. in finance).  He has served as Adjunct Assistant Professor of Medicine at The University of Pennsylvania and taught seminars in entrepreneurial management in Wharton’s Executive M.B.A. program.
